A Meijer LPGA Classic Must-Do: J. Brewer's

BELMONT, Mich. – There is one spot in Grand Rapids that seems to beat out any other brewery, selling out year after year before tournament play even starts. In a place where there is a brewery on every block — Grand Rapids is known as “Beer City” for a reason — one stands out among the rest.

And it’s only open 3 days a year.

J. Brewer’s is the upscale food and beverage option at the Meijer LPGA Classic at Blythefield Country Club. As prestigious as the course itself is, J. Brewer’s is the biggest bang for your buck. At $85/person per day, the prices pale in comparison to other concession options on the LPGA Tour.

What’s more: J. Brewer’s is all-you-can-eat.

Named after the founder of Blythefield Country Club, the food tent – which is a tent in nature but not in feel – backs up to the 4th green. Included is outdoor barstool-style seating, making for a perfect setup, especially for the spectacle of weekend golf. J. Brewer’s hosts up to 20 different restaurant partners and vendors under its massive tent fitting around 2,500 people per day.

Once inside, the layout is divided into three “rooms”, each with a handful of vendors distributing lunch-sized specials. Each day brings a different menu, so visitors will never tire of what’s available at J. Brewer’s. Options range from its well-known sushi and dessert bars (featuring products available at Meijer), ribs with chimichurri, pulled pork, scallops ceviche, vegan jambalaya, and much more. There are plenty of options that are vegetarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan-friendly, so there truly is an option for everyone.

Speaking of, those with a 21+ wristband can take advantage of the bar at J. Brewer’s, which spans 80 feet along the middle of the tent, with plenty of TVs to tune into the action that can’t be seen from the viewing deck.

If the options at J. Brewer’s weren’t enough, just next door is the Frederik’s tent, home to even more food, beverage, and desert options open to those with tickets. Everything available at Frederik’s can also be purchased in Meijer locations across the Midwest.
